Unashamed Online Bible Study Christine Caine

Week Five - Highly Unlikely
Reminder: Watch this video the week of Oct 14 - Oct 20

Welcome to our final session, Week #5 in our Unashamed online study. This week we will dig into a passage from God's Word with Chris that will encourage you to live out and live up to all that God has called you to be in Him. We'll discover that few personalities in the pages of Scripture (other than our Savior) were without blemish; and hopefully that will encourage you in the ways that God wants to use you in your world today.

Scripture of the Week

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. – 2 Corinthians 4:7 (NIV))

Discussion / Journaling Questions

We sincerely believe this five-week online study will encourage and refresh you in deep and meaningful ways as you discover fresh insights from God's Word. Let us encourage you, after watching each weeks' video teaching segment (and reading the corollary readings in the book and study guide if you've purchased those); to review the discussion/journaling questions we provide below. If you're doing this study "solo", let these prompt you in your prayer time, as you journal, or simply to ponder during your study time. If you are in a group setting for this study (face-to-face with others, or via social media or online tools); you may wish to discuss these with others in your "group".

Questions to ponder, journal, or discuss with others enjoying this study with you:

  1. Who is your favorite biblical character, other than Jesus? Can you think of anything in that character's story that demonstrates his or her frailty and shortcomings despite being used by God?
  2. Why would God chose to use messed up, scarred people to do divine things for his Kingdom?
  3. Read 2 Corinthians 12:9-11 and re-write it in your own words, possibly even substituting your name into the verses as you do.
  4. How is shame-filled living really self-focused or self-centered living?
  5. Can you think of any ways that God has already begun to use some of the hurt, mistakes and even shame of your past for his glory?
