Unashamed Online Bible Study Christine Caine

Week Two - Today Is the Day
Reminder: Watch this video the week of Sep 23 - Sep 29

Here in Week #2, we'll look at how deeply God desires for you to be set free from any shame of condemnation from your past, and how he doesn't want you to delay it for even one more day! Two powerful Scripture passages are used in this week's session to help reinforce these truths. Let them both encourage you, and motivate you, as you move from shameful to shameless!

Scripture of the Week

Instead of your shame you will receive a double portion, and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance. And so you will inherit a double portion in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.
– Isaiah 61:7 (NIV)

Discussion / Journaling Questions

We sincerely believe this five-week online study will encourage and refresh you in deep and meaningful ways as you discover fresh insights from God's Word. Let us encourage you, after watching each weeks' video teaching segment (and reading the corollary readings in the book and study guide if you've purchased those); to review the discussion/journaling questions we provide below. If you're doing this study "solo", let these prompt you in your prayer time, as you journal, or simply to ponder during your study time. If you are in a group setting for this study (face-to-face with others, or via social media or online tools); you may wish to discuss these with others in your "group".

Questions to ponder, journal, or discuss with others enjoying this study with you:

  1. In the story of the woman who touched the hem of Jesus' robe (Mark 5:24-34), shame over her pain had separated her from society, from her friends, her normal activities, even her church. Are there things in your past that are keeping you separated, isolated as this woman was in her day?
  2. What emotions do you think the woman experienced when Jesus asked the disciples, "Who touched me?", and how did they change when she heard Jesus address her as "Daughter"?
  3. Do you believe that some try to keep their distance from Jesus because they are afraid of what his response to them will be?
  4. How does this story reinforce the fact that Jesus longs to heal our pain, deliver us from our shame, and bring us out of our past?
  5. Are you ready to give a different answer than Pharaoh did when Moses asked when he wanted the plague of the frogs removed?
